Jun 30th -

Day starts off with a lecture on soils in Switzerland, and then a trip to La Cote region outside of Nyon.

Soil of La Cote is heavily influenced by glacial forces and activity. Lending shallow soils that are heavily aggregated. Erosion on the steep slopes with the amount of rain is a problem

Plant Biodiversity lecture in La Cote region. By having biodiversity (plant species that are beneficial) each winegrower is awarded 1000 Swiss Francs a year, per government regulation.

Student Wine presentations and tasting. I am presenting the 2007 Fresno St. Tempranillo to the school of Changins.
